I've got already a room Notes to myself that I use like a clipboard sometimes.

I wonder if you could 'fake' a bridge without a homeserver by having a client that just posts SMS chats to a dedicated per-SMS room. Monitoring for chats created by another client could be used to trigger outgoing SMSes...
I wish there were more hours in the day :(
