I’m learning how to use IRC at age 32.
https://halloy.chat/ and https://soju.im/ are very cool software, but the difficulty barrier of entry is surprisingly high?
To get the IRCv3 features like chat-history you need to selfhost soju and juggle the TLS termination with a reverse proxy.
I’m thinking if this was ever meant to be used by non technical folks.
